What is a Letter Before Action

A Letter Before Action (LBA) is a pre-legal letter that requests the payment of a debt to a business and advises of the potential issue of a court claim. An LBA sets out what amount is owed to your business from a debtor and provides 7 days in order for your customer to pay. This is an essential part of the debt recovery process. Before issuing any legal proceedings, a Letter Before Action must first be sent to follow Pre action protocols.
